The original bed was made during the Tudor dynasty in England c. 1558 – 1603.  This miniature reproduction of the original bed has an elaborately carved wooden headpiece supported by a tall paneled bedhead and two turned posts on the footboard. Each panel in the headboard and footboard is decorated with a carved motif sometimes with the families coat of arms. Beds were designed for warmth and privacy and they were so valuable and highly prized that they were passed down the generations and the 14th century onward it is not unusual to find them mentioned in wills. The Bed measures 7 ½ inches long x 5 inches wide x 7 inches high and is available in a walnut finish.
